Dr. Lindsey McCallon joined Premiere Eye Associates in 2021 as an Optometric Physician. She grew up in rural Kentucky where she, in only three years, received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Physics from Western Kentucky University with honors. She then graduated from Southern College of Optometry located in Memphis, Tennessee where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and was awarded scholarships from the Kentucky Optometric Association.
Dr. McCallon completed her clinical rotations in a variety of specialties including pediatrics, disease, binocular vision, vision therapy, contact lens, and low vision rehabilitation. In Louisville, Kentucky, she worked under several retinal, corneal, and glaucoma specialists at Bennett and Bloom Eye Center where she became proficient in cataract, LASIK, and corneal post-operational care as well as treating ocular disease such as glaucoma and dry eye. She found her passion for ocular disease while training in the impoverished areas of rural Southeastern Kentucky and while traveling for medical missions in Central America.
Dr. McCallon is a member of the Alabama Optometric Association, Kentucky Optometric Association, The American Optometry Association, and The American Academy of Optometry. She enjoys traveling with her husband, hiking, and reading an unreasonable amount of fantasy and science fiction novels in her spare time.
